Flight 93 National Memorial
Featuring exhibits; the Tower of Voices, Memorial Plaza, and the Wall of Names. The memorial was built to commemorate the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, which was one of four aircraft hijacked during the September 11 attacks in 2001. The Visitor Center features a permanent exhibition that focuses on a self-guided experience around artifacts, multimedia, and interactive exhibits.
The Frank Lloyd Wright Tour
Kentuck Knob: Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the last decade of his career, Kentuck Knob is nestled high in the western Pennsylvania mountains 7 miles south of Fallingwater. A must-see sculpture garden featuring more than 35 major works enhances the visitor experience, and a former greenhouse now serves as the visitor center with a gift shop and a cafe. The Woodland Walk trail is nearly a mile long.
Fallingwater: Is a house designed in 1935 by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Kaufmann family, owners of Pittsburgh's largest department store. Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater is one of his most widely acclaimed works and best exemplifies his philosophy of organic architecture: the harmonious union of art and nature. Wright designed Fallingwater to rise above the waterfall over which it is built. Local craftsmen quarried native sandstone and other materials from the property and completed the construction of the main house, guest house and service wing in 1939.
