Brooklyn Chocolate Tour
Tuesday, March 11, 2025
On our Brooklyn Chocolate Tour, you'll visit four of the finest traditional and artisanal chocolate makers in Brooklyn! During our travels you’ll learn all about the history of chocolate in Brooklyn, how chocolate is created from bean to bar and watch demonstrations.
We’ll start our tour in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn to visit the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory where you’ll enjoy a scoop of their award-winning chocolate ice cream while Mark Thompson, the owner, tells you all about his ice cream making process.
Then enjoy lunch at Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge for two slices of thin crust, Neapolitan style, Margherita pizza, soft drinks.
From there, we'll head over to The Chocolate Room in Cobble Hill. The owners Jon and Naomi will tell them all about their history while sampling their award-winning mini chocolate cupcakes and Belgian hot chocolate.
The next stop will be Raaka Chocolates in Red Hook. Raaka means "raw" In Finnish, so they don't roast their cocoa beans at Ra aka. They allow the natural flavor profiles to create imaginative chocolates like Pink Sea Salt, Earl Grey, Coconut Milk, Ghost Pepper and more. Samples are unlimited at Raaka.
The final stop is Li-Lac Chocolates in the newly developed Industry City in Sunset Park. Li-Lac is the oldest chocolate maker in NYC. You’ll taste samples of three different varieties of their chocolates.
You will have an opportunity to purchase chocolates at each stop.
